About Us

Our Savior

Our Savior Lutheran Church is a member of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod along with her sister congregation of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard, SD. When you visit, you will hear God’s Word faithfully preached and taught. God’s Word does not change with time; thus, the Church is rooted only in the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Our Savior was founded in 1957, hoping to provide a church family for the people of Madison, SD. Since then, it has continued to serve God’s people, offering them the forgiveness, life, and salvation which Jesus gives.

Our Savior is made up of believers walking together in faith. Through Christ-centered preaching, Bible study, and serving our community, we encourage members and visitors alike to live out their faith daily. We hope to be an example of Christian love and kindness in a broken and sinful world.

Our Savior hosts Sunday morning worship services at 8:30 am, followed by Sunday school at 9:30 am. It also offers confirmation classes, youth group activities, midweek Bible studies, a college outreach ministry, and more.

Our Savior has experienced the grace of God, and we would love for you to experience the same. Please, come see what God is doing in our midst. God loves you.

Pastor Mork

Pastor Joshua Mork believes ministry is fun. He loves seeing people grow in faith, learn something new about the Bible, and be struck by how much God loves them.

He married his lovely wife, Samantha, in 2019, graduated from Concordia Seminary St. Louis, Missouri in 2020, and was ordained at First Lutheran Church, Papillion, NE later that same year. He has served at Our Savior and St. John’s since 2024.

Christian community is very important to him. Because Christians have been given the saving grace of Jesus, he believes they are called to walk together through life, to build one another up, and to encourage people to faith, love, and good works. He hopes to be an instrument of grace to God’s people at Our Savior and St. John’s.

When he’s not at church, he enjoys strategy video games, reading, and blacksmithing. (He’d also love to go to outer space, but that one’s probably not going to happen!)

He’d love to talk with you. Feel free to reach out; you’ll make his day!
